Description

The works involved upgrading the flood defences at Conon Bridge by increasing the height of the existing flood bund to provide protection against a 1 in 200 year flood.

A specialist subcontractor installed a slurry trench down to rock level ( up to 6m deep ) then the new bund incorporating a bentonite liner was built to an increased height. Associated works included protection of existing Scottish Water, SSE and Network Rail assets plus construction of a new core footpath and steps.
