Exterior sealant and direct glazing adhesive for organic glass in Marine applications

Sikaflex®-295 UV is a 1-component polyurethane adhesive of paste-like consistency that cures on exposure to atmospheric moisture. It is suitable for interior and exterior sealing applications and to bond organic glass in the Marine business. Sikaflex®-295 UV meets the requirements set out by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Sikaflex®-295 UV has been specially developed for the marine industry, where it is used to bond and seal plastic glazing materials in boats and ships. Because of its excellent weatherability this product can also be used to seal joints in exposed areas. Suitable substrates are aluminium (bright or anodized), GRP (polyester resin), stainless steel, timber, 2-component coatings and plastic glazing materials (PC, PMMA). Seek manufacturer’s advice and perform tests on original substrates before using Sikaflex®-295 UV on materials prone to stress cracking. This product is suitable for experienced professional users only. Tests with actual substrates and conditions have to be performed to ensure adhesion and material compatibility.

The Professional Deck Caulking Compound

Sikaflex®-290 DC PRO is a 1-component polyurethane based joint sealing compound, specifically formulated for caulking joints in traditional timber marine decking. It exhibits excellent weathering resistance and is therefore well suited for highly exposed open joints within the maritime environment. The sealing compound cures to form a flexible elastomer which allows a fast and easy sanding process.

Sikaflex®-291i is a non-sag 1-component polyurethane sealant specifically developed for the marine market, which cures on exposure to atmospheric moisture. Sikaflex®-291i meets in addition the low spread of flame requirements set out by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO).

Sikaflex®-291i is a multipurpose product used in marine constructions. It is suitable for making elastic, vibration-resistant joint seals, and can also be used for a variety of interior sealing applications. Sikaflex®-291i bonds extremely well to the materials commonly used in marine construction like wood, metals, metal primers and paint coatings (2-C systems), ceramic materials and plastics (GRP, etc.). Sikaflex®-291i must not be used to seal plastics that are prone to stress cracking (e.g. PMMA, PC, etc.). This product is suitable for experienced professional users only.
